Dr. Rizwana Abbasi is an assistant professor in the Department of Strategic and Nuclear Studies at the National Defense University, Islamabad. She completed her PhD at the University of Leicester, and was a post-doctoral research fellow there. Formerly, she was a research fellow at the University of Leeds. She is a graduate of the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS), Hawaii, USA. She has authored a book titled Pakistan and the New Nuclear Taboo: Regional Deterrence and the International Arms Control Regime (Oxford: Peter Lang, 2012).
