Aakriti Bachhawat

Aakriti Bachhawat is a Research Intern at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute in Canberra, Australia. She holds a dual master’s degree in international relations and diplomacy from the Australian National University. Prior to ASPI, she worked as a research assistant at the Griffith Asia Institute in Brisbane. She has also previously interned with the national office of the Australian Institute of International Affairs and at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies in New Delhi. She is interested in Indian foreign policy in South Asia, maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), and Chinese presence in the small island states of the IOR.
