Ari Tolany

Ari Tolany is the Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow with the South Asia Program at the Stimson Center. She completed her Master's degree in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas, where her thesis examined how the differentiated incorporation of custom in the Indian personal law system shaped political rhetoric. She also graduated with high honors from the University of Texas with a major in International Relations and Global Studies and a minor in Persian. Prior to joining Stimson, Ari was a Brumley Fellow at the Strauss Center for International Security and Law and a Persian Critical Language Scholar in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Persian.
