Gulbin Sultana is a Researcher with the South Asia Centre at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) in New Delhi, India. Prior to joining IDSA, she worked with the National Maritime Foundation and the United Services Institution of India. She is a close observer of the developments in Sri Lanka and the Maldives and has written extensively on the subjects. She received her M.Phil degree from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi where she focused on India’s naval support to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. She is currently working on her doctoral thesis on Sri Lanka’s maritime security.
