Joy Mitra


Joy Mitra is a researcher and geopolitical analyst with expertise in strategic (game) theory, deterrence and escalation dynamics, conflict bargaining and negotiation, and decision-making analysis. Currently affiliated with IPCS, he is a regular contributor to various online platforms and journals and has earlier worked at the South Asia desk of Wikistrat and at the Institute of Chinese Studies, New Delhi. Prior to joining IPCS he was a Foreign Policy Fellow jointly with the Jindal School of International Affairs, OP Jindal Global University, Sonipat, and the Youth Forum for Foreign Policy. He holds an MA in Diplomacy, Law and Business from OP Jindal Global University. Joy is also a qualified engineer and worked with a multinational consultancy firm before making a career transition.
