With a PhD on Central Asia’s Russian language media, Dr. Najam Abbas has served international initiatives aimed at improving human development capacity building opportunities to mountainous Central and South Asian settings as well as in projects aimed at improving youth’s employment and growth through improving the region's higher education institutions’ capacities.
He is on the panel of editor of Encyclopaedia Islamica published from Leiden (Holland). Dr. Abbas is fluent in Russian, and is conversant in Arabic and basic Tajik language. His comments on matters of significant developments in Russia and Central Asia are sought by BBC Urdu, Hindi, Uzbek and Kyrgyz services as well as Anatolian News Agency besides Bloomberg Arabia and Aljazeera (Arabic and English).
