Nazir Ahmad Mir

Nazir Ahmad Mir, PhD, is researcher at the South Asia Center, Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defense Studies and Analysis (MP-IDSA). His research focus at MP-IDSA is internal politics and foreign policy of Pakistan and Afghanistan. With a PhD in Peace Analysis and Peace Building, Nazir’s areas of research are nationalism and international conflict, democracy and state making in South Asia, nuclear policies, and international relations theory. Nazir has written peer-reviewed articles on the cultural explanation of statecraft, Pashtun nationalism and the State in Pakistan, civil-military relations in India, among others. He has also written for Frontline, the Print, Atlantic Council as well.
