Ram Singh

Dr. Ram Singh is Professor & Head (Trade Operations & Logistics) at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade with over 26 years of teaching experience. He writes regularly for the Hindu Business Line, the Business Standard, the Financial Express, the Policy Circle and occasionally for the Guardian and the Wire. A professor of practice in the areas of international business, Dr. Ram Singh holds an MBA degree with specialization in International Business and Ph.D in Management.
He also holds Certificate in Managing Global Governance from German Development Institute, Bonn, Germany and Master Certificate in SCM & Logistics from Michigan State University, USA. He specializes; both in training & research; in areas such as economic and trade diplomacy, trade procedures, and international trade logistics. He has authored five textbooks, notable among them are Export Import Management, International Business and Supply Chain Management (Wiley Publication) and, International Trade Logistics (Oxford University Press). Prof. Singh has 34 ABDC indexed publications to his credit in last five years.
Dr. Ram Singh is directly involved in training of Indian Trade Services (ITS) probationers, Ministry of Commerce; GOI. He is visiting faculty NACEN (Faridabad & Bombay) for Training Indian Revenue Services (IRS) Officials. He is also visiting faculty to IFM Darussalam (Tanzania) and Korea Institute of Economic Policies (KIEP), South Korea. As a mandate for capacity building of African Diplomats from the Government of India, he has been directly involved in the Diplomat Training Program of 7 African countries namely, Angola; South Africa; Uganda; Rwanda; Tanzania; Namibia and Niger.
