Gulraiz Iqbal serves as the Policy & Government Affairs Lead at Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA), where he represents over 1,000 leading IT companies. In this role, he advises the Government of Pakistan on issues related to technology policy, digital transformation, and AI governance. He has successfully led policy advocacy efforts, including reforms to foreign currency retention limits and equity investment abroad policies. He was previously a Teaching and Research Assistant at Quaid-i-Azam University’s School of Politics and International Relations, where he assisted in departmental research on South Asian international politics and nuclear deterrence. Gulraiz has written extensively for international policy platforms, including South Asian Voices. His work has been cited in respected publications, such as the “Routledge Handbook of International Relations in South Asia.” As a South Asia Fellow, Gulraiz will focus on developing an AI governance framework tailored to the strategic nuances of South Asia, with particular emphasis on Pakistan.
