Pervez Majeed
Pervez Majeed is a print and radio journalist from Indian-administered Jammu & Kashmir, and he's been reporting from the conflict-ridden region for 12 years. Based in Srinagar and currently working as a freelance journalist, he contributes to news portal Rediff.com and hosts programs on Radio Kashmir Srinagar, a popular local radio station. Previously, he was a correspondent for the Delhi-based English weekly news magazine Sahara Time and Urdu weekly Chattan. He received his master's degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Kashmir and is a 2015 alumnus of the U.S. State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program. He has received an award from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Press Institute of India (PII) for his work in Kashmir. Besides politics, Pervez's writes on health, education, society, and culture.
