Ria Chakrabarty

Ria Chakrabarty is the Policy Director for Hindus for Human Rights, where she leads the organization’s advocacy efforts with government actors. Through her work, Ria has focused on understanding the effects of US foreign policy on communities worldwide. Previously, she examined political violence in the United States, and her research on the 2019 wave of democratic protests was published by the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies Journal of Global Affairs. Ria has also worked in various positions in the United States Senate and the World Health Organization. She graduated from the Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas with a Masters of Global Policy Studies and a concentration in International Development.
