Shalini Chawla

Dr. Shalini Chawla is a Distinguished Fellow at the Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS), New Delhi. She was a research scholar at MP-IDSA from 1999-2002. She worked as a freelance defense analyst from 2003-2005 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She joined CAPS in 2006 and focuses on Pakistan and Afghanistan. Currently, she heads the Neighbourhood Studies Programme at CAPS. She is a Visiting Faculty at the Naval War College, Goa. She is a PhD supervisor for the National Defence College, New Delhi. She has authored/edited seven books, and her latest publications include (ed.) India’s Neighbourhood: Challenges and Opportunities (2023) and (ed.) Pakistan’s Security Dynamics and Nuclear Weapons (2022)
