Xiao Liang

Xiao Liang is a Researcher in the SIPRI Military Expenditure and Arms Production Programme. He collects and analyses data on military spending and the arms industry. His research areas cover the opportunity costs and reduction of military spending, relationship between military aid and development assistance, and regional trends in the Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining SIPRI, he worked with the Centre for Child Rights and Business of Save the Children Sweden (Hong Kong) and Sustainable Energy for All (Austria), where he worked on child labour and Monitoring & Evaluation. He has also interned with the OECD (France) and UN Women (United States). He received dual master’s degree from Columbia University and Sciences Po Paris.
