Ali Mustafa

Ali Mustafa is an independent analyst and adjunct faculty member with a decade of experience in academia, policy, and consulting. He specializes in nonproliferation, arms control, and nuclear safety and security issues, with previous teaching roles at the National Defence University and Air University Islamabad. Ali has been actively engaged in research, advocacy, and mentorship, serving as the first research associate at the Centre for Security, Strategy and Policy Research (CSSPR), University of Lahore, and as a Nuclear Responsibilities Ambassador with BASIC UK. His work has focused on nuclear politics, national security, and the socio- political dynamics of Pakistan. Ali has participated in numerous conferences, workshops, and Track-II dialogues, gaining deep insights into Pakistan’s strategic challenges. Passionate about education, he has mentored hundreds of students, striving to address inequities in opportunity. As a Stimson Center Fellow, he aims to contribute with his expertise, curiosity, and independent perspective.
