The Subcontinental is a South Asian Voices (SAV) podcast on strategic issues in South Asia. SAV is an online magazine featuring rising South Asian analysts. It aims to foster free-flowing, critical debate on South Asia’s security, economic, and political issues, with a special focus on nuclear matters.
This episode of The Subcontinental features guest Dr. Rajeswari Rajagopalan, a Senior Fellow and Head of the Nuclear and Space Policy Initiative at Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi. She previously acted as Assistant Director of the National Security Council Secretariat in India. She is the author of four books, including Clashing Titans: Military Strategy and Insecurity Among Asian Great Powers and has a PhD in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
Dr. Rajagopalan joins Host Dr. Sameer Lalwani to discuss a number of contemporary issues on the subcontinent including takeaways from the recently concluded Nuclear Security Summit, India’s defense modernization and the US role, challenges to regional stability in South Asia, space security, and a new segment, “Something or Nothing”.
