The Stimson Center South Asia Program’s Visiting Fellowship has welcomed over 130 rising analysts from India and Pakistan to Washington, D.C., since 1993. The 2026 cohort includes Afeera Firdous, Hely Desai, Sameer Ali Khan, and Soumya Bhowmick, who are researching topics ranging from India-China selective derisking and U.S.-India small modular reactor (SMR) cooperation to China-Pakistan conventional tech modernization and Pakistani public nuclear risk awareness. In this collection, editors have assembled contributions from the 2026 cohort to the South Asian Voices platform.
